How to Use the Green Screen FeatureUpdated 2 months ago

Hello,

This article will help you with setting up and using the Green Screen filter in your FMBooth software.

Please note, for the software to chroma key the frame perfectly you need to have a good physical setting of a High-quality Green screen backdrop, at least 2 points of continuous lighting, and enough room to avoid shadows from the subject.

Please note that the filter will be applied to the final preview of your photo and will not be applied to the raw preview.

* For easier setup, you can use the Cloud AI feature of Background Removal. With that feature, there is no need for a physical green screen backdrop

Setting the Background:

The background should be added to your layout design in the Layout tab.

1. Click on the [Photo+] icon and browse your background file.

2. Drag & Drop the background layer behind the DSLR state in the list (the background photo state should be above the DSLR state).

3. Adjust the photo to the desired size (it could be the size of your DSLR item, the size of the layout, etc. depending on your preferences).

Here is an example of a layout where we chose a beach background. You can see that we set the size to be the same as the layout WxH and that it is behind the DSLR element.

Here we chose to set a different background to each photo, in a preset with more than one photo.

Applying the Filter:

There are two options to enable the Green Screen filter on your photos:

1. In the Layout tab:

When applying the Green Screen filter from the Photo Layout tab, you can apply the filter per photo. This means that if you have a layout with 3 photos, you can selectively apply a different filter to each of the photos.

  • Click on the [...] button of the DSLR state in the list on the left of the Element Editor.
  • Choose the Green Screen filter in the Photo Filter:

2. In your Workflow tab:

By applying the Green Screen filter from the Workflow tab, you are applying the filter for all of the photos in your layout.

Click on the settings icon in the DSLR Photo state to do so

Check the "Apply selected filter on all photos" box, and choose the Green Screen filter and select your desired filter from the drop-down list:

That's it!
