Having trouble printing?

This article will offer you solutions for common printing Issues.

Before starting with the troubleshooting, you need to make sure that your printer is recognized by the computer. To do that, open the Control Panel→ Devices & Printer→ make sure you see the relevant printer (in this case, DNP RX1) online:

The Printer Is Not Recognized:

If you cannot see your printer recognized in Devices and Printers, try the following:

  • Make sure your printer is on (if your printer doesn't turn on, try to replace the power cord).
  • Make sure your printer is connected to the computer via USB.
  • Change the USB port.
  • If your printer is connected to a USB hub, try to connect it directly to the computer (it may be that the USB hub is faulty).
  • Replace USB cable.
  • Try to restart your computer
  • If needed, check if there are Windows Updates available.

The Printer Is "Offline":

If the printer icon is grayed out and you see the Offline indication at the bottom of the Control Panel:

  • Restart the Print Spooler Service: Download the Print Spooler.bat > right click and select to Run as administrator.
  • Try the above solutions, as if the printer is not recognized by your computer.

Note: you can access the Print Spooler service manually, via Device Manager > Right click on the Print Spooler Service and Restart.

The Printer Is Recognized But Not Printing From the Software:

The selected printer to print from the software, is set to Selected Default Printer by default.

Of course, you can always select the desired printer or simply define your printer as the default one in the Control Panel.

In the Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right click on your printer and select Choose as default printer.

As mentioned, you can select your printer specifically. You can do that per preset (in the Features tab), or globally (in the Globals tab):

The Printer Appears as "Photo Printer" Under "Unspecified" Devices:

If the printer is not recognized and is shown as an "Unspecified Device", it means that it's driver is not yet installed on your computer.

Download and install you're printer's driver from the brand's website (for example: DNP, HiTi, Mitsubishi).

A problem during printing can cause the ribbon to tear in half. Do not throw the ribbon away. It can easily be repaired and put back into use by taping the torn parts together. Click here for detailed instructions by DNP.

Random White Lines on the Edge of a Print:

If the white lines are random over the paper, that might be a media\printer issue. If you're using DNP, you can assist the DNP troubleshooting document.
