Hi, everyone!

This article will show you how to create a Photo Strips preset - from workflow, to layout, to printer settings.

Ready? Let's go!

TABLE OF CONTENTS

How Does It Work:

Most of the dye-sub printers are not capable of printing a single strip alone, but they can print 4x6 printouts and enable 2-inch cuts. This means that if we don't want to waste our media and print one strip with the photos and another one that is blank, we would prefer to print double strips.

There are two ways to create a Photo Strips layout in the Foto Master Photo Booth software:

1. Create a 4x6 Photo Layout with a 1200x1800 overlay.

2. Create a 2x6 Photo Layout with a 600x1800 overlay, and enable Duplicate Layout Before Print.

This article will show you how to work with each of these options. Please note that we will show here how to create a Photo Strips printout with 3 photos, but you can freely make your adjustments if you wish to have more photos in your printout.

Printer Setup:

To enable the 2-inch cut option on your printer, please follow this article.

Once done, select the relevant printer in the Features (or in the Globals tab, if you enabled the global printer settings):

2x6 Photo Layout with "Duplicate Layout" Feature:

Using this option will allow you to create a single-strip final photo file. This is a good option if you want to also share your layout via Email or MMS.

Workflow Specifications:

Create a regular three photos workflow, to add three photo placeholders on your photo layout:

Photo Layout Adjustments:

1. Set your Layout WxH (Width and Height) to 600x1800 (or 1800x600 if you'd like to create a horizontal strip).

2. Press on the [Photo+] button to load your overlay and place the DSLR Photo placeholders\elements accordingly.

3. Check the Duplicate Layout Before Print box.

*When printing 2x6 layout from the Photo Gallery (ctrl+P) - select the photo and press ctrl+D to enable Duplicate Layout Before Printing for the selected printout.

4x6 Photo Layout:

Workflow Specifications:

If you want to create two identical strips, you should create three photos preset and Duplicate the photos (you can also create two individual presets, but this means that your guests will need to take six different photos, which is a bit more time consuming).

Photo Layout Adjustments:

In the Photo Layout, you will now have six DSLR photo placeholder\elements - three + their copies - to create two identical strips.

1. Set your Layout WxH to 1200x1800 (or 1800x1200 if you want a horizontal layout).

2. Click on the [Photo+] button to load your 4x6 Photo Strips overlay and place the DSLR Photo placeholders\elements accordingly.

Want to print both Photo Strips and 4x6 at the same time? No problem at all! Check this article for further instructions.
