Hi all!

This article will provide you with solutions to common printer problems.

For more information, you can refer to the Printer's user manual.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

The Printer Is Not Printing:

1. Make sure that the printer is On, connected to your computer, and detected by it. Go to the Control Panel > View devices and printers - and make sure your printer is recognized and online.

If you can't see your printer there, try to change the USB cord or connect it to a different USB port.

2. Make sure you have the Enabled Printing checkbox checked, in the Printer tab.

3. By default, the selected printer to print from the software is the "Selected Default Printer". You can either open the drop-down menu and select your printer there, or you can define your printer as the default printer in the Control Panel > View devices and printers > Right-click on your printer and Set as default printer

White Line On The Printout's Borders:

1. Make sure that your labels roll sits properly and locked inside the printer. You can take it out and re-install it.

2. Make sure your printer's Shutters are close\open according to your label's width. You can refer to page #40 in the following user manual: Epson C3500.

3. Make sure that your Print Layout WxH (Width and Height) are matching your label's width and height. For example, if you're using a 2x2" label, the Print Layout WxH should be 600x600 pixels.

4. Make sure you have followed the calibration process (2x2" calibration article | 2x3" calibration article). Make sure that you have selected the correct Media Coating Type (if you're using Foto Master's labels, it should be "Glossy").

5. In the Control Panel > View devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences. There, go to the Options tab and make sure you have the Borderless Printing box checked.

6. In the Control Panel > View devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences. There, go to the Options tab and change the print layout's Vertical and\or Horizontal position. For example, if the white line is on the right side of the printout, we would want to change the Horizontal Print Position by adding a positive number (a negative number will move the print position to the left).

7. In the Control Panel > View devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences. There, go to the Printer Utilities tab and click on Printer Settings Utility(P). Then go to Printer Adjustment > Paper Feed Adjustment and apply the necessary adjustments for the Vertical\Horizontal Print Start Position.

8. If you cannot seem to avoid a white border (for example, if you had a white line on the right border and when you applied one of the offered solutions above the border is now on the left side), you can try to enlarge the Media's Width and Length values a little bit.

In the Control Panel > View devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences. There, go to the General tab and define a new Custom Media Name with Custom Media Width and Length. In the following example, we added 2 more millimeters (0.078") to our Media Width setting:

Random White Lines Over the Printout:

1. In the Control Panel > View devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences. There, go to the Printer Utilities tab and click on Printer Settings Utility(P). Then go to Printer Adjustments > Print Head Alignment

You can also run the Sensor Adjustments on the same window.

2. In the Control Panel > View devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences. In the General tab, change the Print Quality setting.

Note: when using Foto Master's given calibration XML file and labels, the Print Quality is set to Quality (Mode 2).

3. In the Control Panel > View devices and printers, right-click on your printer and select Printing Preferences. There, go to the Printer Utilities tab and click on Printer Settings Utility(P). There run Manual Head Cleaning.
