The Pen is Drawing Outside of the Paper Holder

If when the robot is drawing, the drawing exceeds the limit of the holder and the paper here are the steps that can solve the issue:.

1. Disconnect the Bot from the Power and close the Software.

2. Open the Software and connect the Bot to the Power and the Software.

3. Select the bot, calibrate, and test if the issue is now resolved.

If the issue still exists and the pen is getting outside of the paper holder:

Recalibration of the Arm via Rotrics Studio:

1. Download and install Rotrics Studio software and open it

2. Connect the Bot.

3. Check for firmware updates - if there are any updates, do them and then test the robot to see if it helps.

You can see a video of these steps here:

If it doesn't help, do a Factory Reset and recalibrate the Home position via the Rotrics software:

1. Enable Terminal

2. Type in terminal M502 and hit send

3. Type in terminal m500 and hit send - up to here it is the factory reset

4. Type in terminal M18 and hit send - this will stop the motor so you can recalibrate the Home position

5. Manually push the arm back and up. Make sure that the arm is centered and not offside as that can impact the drawing area.

6. Type in terminal M889 and click send

7. Type M1112 and click send - this will return the Bot arm to the Home position automatically.

8. Calibrate the Height and you should be good to go.

The Bot Is Not Drawing on Part Of the Paper - Leveling

When you encounter a case where the bot is only drawing on a certain part of the paper - for example, only at the bottom part of the paper but when it's trying to draw anywhere more up it draws on air (so if it was drawing a circle, it will only draw a semi-circle) - this can indicate a Leveling issue.

* Before you reset the Levels and do it anew, double-check that your calibration was done correctly

* Check that the firmware version does not have any updates and reset the Home position as mentioned at the beginning of this guide

If the above guide was not successful, here is how to do the Leveling process:

1. Make sure that the bot is outside of the holder is on a straight surface - very important to make sure that the table it is on is straight and not leaning in any way, as this can impact the process.

2. Open the Rotrics software and connect the bot to it via the Terminal

3. Go to the 3D Print tab (The cube icon on the left side), make sure that you are on the Control Panel view (and not the G-Code view which is the default), press on Leveling

4. Click on "Reset XY Slope Rate" in the window that pops up and wait for the "Level Started" pop-up and, just like when doing the calibration, press on the Step Length until the pen touches the paper. Click Save.

5. Continue to Point B and do the same thing until you finish with Point D.

6. Press the Leveling button at the bottom of the screen.

7. Go back to the main screen of the Rotrics software calibrate the arm and test.
