What Is the Photo Mosaic Wall?

The Photo Mosaic Wall is a large-format activation where every guest photo becomes a tile in a growing mosaic. As guests take part, their photos are placed into a grid that gradually reveals a larger main image -- a brand logo, event artwork, a sponsor design, or a portrait -- creating a collective result that builds throughout the event.

The activation is run by PMWall, the current Photo Mosaic Wall software for Windows, and configured through Foto Master Cloud. Guest photos arrive from any Foto Master capture product connected to the same Cloud event.

This article covers the physical activation. For the software itself, see PMWall Overview.

How the Pieces Fit Together

  • Foto Master Cloud holds the event and the PMWall template: the main image, the grid, and every behaviour setting.
  • PMWall runs on the event computer. It syncs the template, collects photos, places tiles, and drives the live display.
  • Capture products -- FMX for Windows, FMX for iPad, or Selfie Wi-Fi -- feed photos into the Cloud event gallery.
  • Virtual Mosaic is the optional hosted version guests can explore online and share.

Key Features

  • Large-format display showing the mosaic build in real time
  • Every guest photo placed as a tile, matched to the main image by colour and detail
  • Configurable main image: brand logo, event artwork, sponsor design, or portrait
  • Printed tiles with a C/R position label so staff can build a physical board
  • Contest mode, where hidden winning cells turn the wall into a live prize draw
  • High-resolution export for printing or display after the event
  • Optional online Virtual Mosaic, where guests can find and share their own tile

Best Use Cases

  • Corporate events built around team unity or brand involvement
  • Charity galas, where the mosaic reveals the charity's logo or mission imagery
  • Large conferences and trade shows
  • Sporting events, as a team or stadium keepsake
  • Weddings, where the mosaic reveals a photo of the couple

  • At least one photo source connected to the same Cloud event
  • Network connectivity for photo sync and licensing
  • The main image prepared in advance, matched to the grid's aspect ratio
  • A label printer, media, and a physical board if the activation includes printed tiles
