Creating Custom Backgrounds and Thumbnails

Legacy Article: This article covers the legacy Augmented Reality Booth software. This product has been discontinued and has no direct replacement.

Overview

This guide explains how to add personalized backgrounds to the Augmented Reality software and assign corresponding thumbnail files.

Supported File Formats

  • Background formats: .mp4 (recommended), .jpg, .png
  • Thumbnail format: .png

Steps to Add Custom Backgrounds

Step 1: Prepare Your Background File

Create or source your desired background file in one of the supported formats listed above.

Step 2: Locate the Backgrounds Folder

Navigate to the following directory on your system:

C:\Program Files\FotoMaster\Foto Master Augmented Reality Photo Booth\ARPhotoBooth\Assets\Backgrounds

Step 3: Place Your Background File

Move your prepared background file into the Backgrounds folder identified in Step 2.

Step 4: Create and Assign Thumbnail

Generate a corresponding thumbnail image in PNG format. This thumbnail will represent your custom background in the software interface and should be placed in the same Backgrounds directory alongside your background file.

Best Practices

  • Use the .mp4 format for video backgrounds to ensure optimal performance
  • Create clear, representative thumbnails for easy identification
  • Maintain consistent naming conventions between background files and their corresponding thumbnails
  • Verify file integrity before placing files in the system directory
