FMPrint Dashboard
The FMPrint dashboard is your real-time command center for managing print operations during events. It provides live job monitoring, printer status, and print job statistics in a clean, tabbed interface.
Dashboard Tabs
Queue Tab
The Queue tab shows all print jobs in real time:
- Pending jobs -- Jobs waiting to be downloaded and printed
- Printing -- Jobs currently being sent to the printer
- Completed -- Successfully printed jobs
- Failed -- Jobs that encountered errors (with error details)
Each job card displays:
- Source booth identification
- Print mode (full or strip)
- Number of copies requested
- Time since job creation
- Current status with visual indicator
- Photo thumbnail preview
Actions available:
- Retry -- Resend a failed job to the printer
- Cancel -- Remove a job from the queue
- View details -- See full job metadata including session ID, layout name, and error messages
Settings Tab
Configure FMPrint's behavior:
Printer Setup (Settings > Printer Setup):
- Main printer -- Handles full-size prints. Options: use the Windows default printer, or select a specific printer
- Strip printer -- Handles photo strip prints. Select a specific printer for strip layouts
- Invert orientation -- Rotates the image 90 degrees (per printer)
- Test print -- Send a test page to verify printer configuration
- Refresh Printer List -- Detect newly connected printers without restarting FMPrint
Print Adjustments:
- Padding -- Fine-tune image placement on paper:
- Top padding: moves the image down
- Bottom padding: moves the image up
- Left padding: moves the image to the right
- Right padding: moves the image to the left
- Negative values crop the image; positive values add borders
- Invert Orientation -- Rotate image by 90 degrees
Important: Paper size must be configured in the printer driver, not in FMPrint. FMPrint handles image placement and routing, while the printer driver controls paper dimensions.
Other Settings:
- Poll interval -- How often FMPrint checks for new jobs (default: 5 seconds)
- Max concurrent jobs -- How many jobs to process simultaneously
- Retry failed jobs -- Automatically retry failed print jobs
- Device name -- A friendly name for this print station (e.g., "Lobby Printer PC")
Tip: Printer drivers must be installed in Windows for FMPrint to detect your printer. If a printer doesn't appear, install the manufacturer's driver first, then click Refresh Printer List.
Dashboard Tab
Overview of the current FMPrint run:
- Jobs printed this session -- Running count of successful prints
- Jobs failed -- Count of failures requiring attention
- Total copies produced -- Total physical prints output
- Average processing time -- How long each job takes from poll to print
- Cloud connection status -- Real-time API connectivity indicator
- Printer health -- Online/offline status of connected printers
Event Selector
The event selector allows you to:
- View all events your license has access to
- Switch between events during multi-event days
- See event details (name, date, time, status)
- Filter by active, upcoming, or all events
Keyboard Shortcuts
FMPrint supports keyboard shortcuts for quick operations during busy events. Check the Settings tab for the full list of available shortcuts.
Real-Time Updates
The dashboard updates automatically:
- New jobs appear in the queue within seconds of being created
- Job statuses update as they progress through printing
- Statistics are recalculated in real time
- Printer status reflects the current hardware state
Tip: During high-volume events, keep the Queue tab visible so you can spot and address failed jobs immediately. A failed job often means a guest is waiting for their print.
