Monitoring the FMPrint Queue

Updated 5 days ago · 2 min readIntermediate

The FMPrint queue shows every print job assigned to the selected event. Keep this screen open during an event so you can see new jobs, identify failures, and retry prints while guests are still nearby.

Queue Statuses

FMPrint jobs move through these statuses:

StatusMeaning
PendingThe job is waiting to be downloaded and printed
PrintingFMPrint is sending the job to the selected printer
CompletedThe print finished successfully
FailedThe job could not be printed and needs attention

Each job can include the source booth, print mode, copy count, thumbnail, creation time, and error details.

What to Watch During an Event

Monitor these items:

  • New jobs appear within a few seconds of capture
  • Failed jobs with driver, connection, or media errors
  • Copy count before retrying a job
  • Printer status and paper supply
  • Cloud connection status
  • Session totals for completed and failed jobs

If jobs stop appearing, confirm that the booth and FMPrint are assigned to the same Cloud event.

Retrying a Failed Job

  1. Open the failed job in the queue.
  2. Read the error message.
  3. Fix the printer issue first, such as paper, media, driver, or connection.
  4. Click Retry.
  5. Confirm the job changes to Printing and then Completed.

Avoid repeated retries before the hardware issue is fixed. Repeated failed retries can slow the queue during busy events.

Canceling a Job

Use Cancel only when a job should not print, for example, if it was duplicated or the guest no longer needs it. Canceling removes the job from active processing for that print station.

Common Queue Problems

Jobs do not appear

  • Confirm FMPrint is logged in and connected to the Cloud.
  • Confirm the selected event is the event used by the booth.
  • Confirm the booth is creating print jobs.
  • Check the internet connection on both the booth and the print station.

Jobs fail immediately

  • Confirm the printer is online.
  • Check paper and media.
  • Confirm the correct printer driver is installed.
  • Send a Windows test print.

Prints come out shifted or rotated

  • Check the printer driver paper size and orientation.
  • Use FMPrint padding and invert orientation settings for final placement adjustments.
