Getting Started with FMPrint
This guide walks you through setting up FMPrint from installation to your first printed photo.
Prerequisites
- A Foto Master Cloud account with an active FMPrint license
- A Windows PC with a connected printer (USB or network)
- An active event in Foto Master Cloud with FMPrint permissions assigned
- Internet connection for Cloud communication
Step 1: Download and Install
- Log in to cloud.fotomaster.com
- Navigate to Downloads or find the FMPrint download link in your dashboard
- Download the FMPrint installer for Windows
- Run the installer and follow the setup wizard
- Launch FMPrint after installation completes
Step 2: Enter Your License Key
- On the FMPrint login screen, enter your FMPrint license key
- License keys follow the format
FMPRINT-XXXX-XXXX - Find your license key in the Cloud dashboard under Licenses
- License keys follow the format
- FMPrint validates the license against the Cloud
- Your print service is registered and assigned a unique service ID
Tip: FMPrint remembers your license key after the first login. You will not need to enter it again unless you reinstall.
Step 3: Select Your Event
After authentication, FMPrint displays a list of events your license is authorized to service:
- Active events are shown by default
- Each event shows its name, date, time, and status
- Select the event you want to print for
- You can switch events at any time from the event selector
Step 4: Configure Your Printer
- Go to Settings in the FMPrint dashboard
- Default printer -- Select the printer for full-size prints (4x6, 5x7, etc.)
- Strip printer -- Optionally select a second printer for photo strip layouts
- Configure print settings:
- Poll interval (how often to check for new jobs, default: 5 seconds)
- Maximum concurrent jobs
- Retry failed jobs (on/off)
Step 5: Start Printing
Once configured, FMPrint automatically:
- Starts polling the Cloud for new print jobs
- Downloads photo assets when jobs arrive
- Sends photos to the appropriate printer
- Reports success/failure back to the Cloud
You can monitor everything from the dashboard in real time.
Testing Your Setup
Before going live at an event:
- Create a test event in the Cloud
- Assign both your booth license and FMPrint license to the event
- Take a test photo at your booth
- Verify the print job appears in FMPrint's queue
- Confirm the print comes out correctly
- Check the Cloud dashboard for the updated print analytics
Troubleshooting
License not validating
- Verify the license key is correct (check for typos)
- Ensure the license is active and not expired in the Cloud dashboard
- Check internet connectivity
No events showing
- Verify the FMPrint license has been assigned permissions for the event in the Cloud
- Check that the event status is "active"
Jobs not appearing
- Confirm the booth is creating print jobs for the same event
- Verify the FMPrint poll interval is set (default: 5 seconds)
- Check internet connectivity on both the booth and the print station
Print failures
- Verify the printer is online and has paper/media loaded
- Check that the printer driver is installed correctly
- Review the error details in FMPrint's job queue
