Selfie Wi-Fi Station: Software Setup

The Selfie Wi-Fi Station runs on the Selfie Wi-Fi software for Windows — guests upload selfies from their own phones, and the software displays them on the TV and delivers them via sharing. This guide covers installation, event setup, and your first test session.

Step 1: Install Selfie Wi-Fi

Turn Key package: Selfie Wi-Fi is pre-installed on the Mini PC provided with your station. Skip to Step 2 — the software is ready to launch.

Bring Your Own (BYO): Download and install Selfie Wi-Fi on your Windows PC:

  1. Log in to cloud.fotomaster.com
  2. Go to Account → Licenses and locate your Selfie Wi-Fi license
  3. Click Download to get the installer
  4. Run the installer on your Windows PC and complete the setup

Note: Selfie Wi-Fi requires an active license linked to your Foto Master Cloud account. See License Management Across Devices if you need to activate or transfer a license.

Step 2: Create Your Event and Template in Foto Master Cloud

Before launching Selfie Wi-Fi, set up your event and template in Foto Master Cloud. The software connects to Cloud to pull all settings, branding, and AI configuration.

  1. Log in at cloud.fotomaster.com
  2. Go to Events → New Event and fill in the event name, date, and duration
  3. Go to Templates and create or load a Selfie Wi-Fi template — configure the overlay, background, AI features (Headshot, Style Pop, etc.), sharing options (SMS, email, QR), and moderation settings
  4. Link the template to the event inside the event settings
  5. Save the event

Step 3: Log In to Selfie Wi-Fi

  1. Open Selfie Wi-Fi on the Windows PC
  2. Sign in with your Foto Master Cloud email and password
  3. Your license activates automatically on sign-in

Note: If you see a license error, verify your subscription is active at cloud.fotomaster.com → Account → Licenses.

Step 4: Connect to Your Event

Selfie Wi-Fi connects to your Cloud event to load the template and go live:

  1. After signing in, your list of Cloud events loads automatically
  2. Select the event you configured in Step 2
  3. Selfie Wi-Fi loads the linked template — overlay, AI features, sharing settings, and moderation rules all sync from Cloud
  4. Click Start to enter the live display and begin accepting guest uploads

Step 5: Configure Display and Settings

Before going live, confirm the key settings:

Display (TV)

Connect the 65” TV via HDMI to the Mini PC. Confirm the Selfie Wi-Fi photo wall displays correctly on the TV. Set Windows display settings to Extended or Second screen only so the TV shows the public-facing wall while you manage settings on the primary screen.

Moderation

Decide whether moderation is set to Auto-approve (photos go straight to the display) or Manual review (you approve each photo before it appears). This is configured in the template settings in Cloud. For most events, auto-approve is recommended unless the event has specific content requirements.

Cloud Connection

Confirm the Cloud connection is active — a strong internet connection is essential for uploading guest photos, processing AI features, and delivering share links via email and SMS.

Step 6: Run a Test Session

  1. Scan the QR code with your own phone as a guest would
  2. Upload a selfie and confirm it appears in the moderation queue (if moderation is on) or directly on the TV display (if auto-approve is on)
  3. Confirm the overlay and branding are applied correctly to the photo
  4. Test the sharing flow — confirm the share link arrives via email or SMS and the photo is accessible in the online gallery
  5. If using AI features (Headshot, Style Pop), run a test with a real face photo and confirm the AI output looks correct
