Draw Me Bot: Using Branded Paper

Updated Yesterday · 1 min readBeginner

Branded paper lets each Draw Me Bot output include a client logo, sponsor mark, or event design. The key is to reserve a clean drawing area and calibrate the robot with the exact paper that will be used at the event.

Paper Design Guidelines

Use branded paper that keeps the drawing area clear:

  • Keep logos outside the main face and body area.
  • Avoid dark patterns behind the drawing area.
  • Use enough white or light space for pen lines to be visible.
  • Keep sponsor marks away from calibration-sensitive edges.
  • Print a small batch first and test before ordering event quantities.

If the branding competes with the drawing, guests may have trouble seeing the portrait.

Setup Steps

  1. Load the branded paper in the same orientation that will be used during the event.
  2. Select the matching paper size in DMBot.
  3. Calibrate Z-height with the branded paper stock.
  4. Calibrate X and Y offsets.
  5. Run a full test drawing.
  6. Adjust the paper artwork or drawing offsets if the output overlaps the branding.

Paper thickness matters. If branded stock is thicker or thinner than your test paper, recalibrate before the event.

Event Tips

  • Bring extra branded paper.
  • Bring plain backup paper.
  • Keep paper dry and flat.
  • Load paper in a consistent direction.
  • Test one drawing after moving the robot or replacing the paper stack.

For long events, periodically check that paper placement has not drifted.
