Updated Yesterday · 1 min readBeginner

Use this setup checklist before operating the Draw Me Bot at an event. Complete the physical setup first, then connect the software, calibrate, and run a test drawing.

Hardware Checklist

  • Draw Me Bot robotic arm
  • Stable table or booth station
  • Drawing tray
  • Pen holder and working pens
  • Paper stock
  • Mac running DMBot for macOS
  • USB cable for the robot
  • Power for the robot and Mac
  • Optional external display
  • Optional camera or iPad capture workflow

Use a stable surface. Any movement of the robot or tray after calibration can affect drawing quality.

Physical Setup

  1. Place the Draw Me Bot on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Position the drawing tray in the correct location.
  3. Install the pen holder and pen.
  4. Load the correct paper size.
  5. Connect the robot to power.
  6. Connect the robot to the Mac with USB.
  7. Keep cables clear of the robot arm movement area.

Do not manually move the robot while it is powered.

Software Setup

  1. Open DMBot on the Mac.
  2. Sign in with the Foto Master Cloud account or the license used for the event.
  3. Select the correct event.
  4. Connect the robot from the robot list.
  5. Wait for the robot to home.
  6. Confirm the robot status is connected.

If the robot does not appear, try another USB port or cable and restart DMBot.

Event Source

Choose how guest photos will reach DMBot:

  • FMX on iPad
  • Selfie Wi-Fi through Foto Master Cloud
  • Cloud event media monitoring
  • Local/offline workflow

After choosing the source, send a test photo and confirm it appears in the drawing queue.

Final Test

Before guests arrive:

  1. Calibrate the robot.
  2. Run one full test drawing.
  3. Confirm the drawing is centered.
  4. Confirm line pressure looks clean.
  5. Confirm the queue moves from pending to processing and complete.
