Draw Me Bot: Event Setup and Operation
Use this event checklist to run the Draw Me Bot during a live activation. The goal is to finish setup before guests arrive, keep the queue moving, and catch drawing or hardware issues early.
Before Guests Arrive
- Place the robot and tray on a stable surface.
- Connect the power and USB.
- Open DMBot and select the event.
- Confirm the photo source is working.
- Load paper and pens.
- Calibrate Z-height and paper position.
- Run a full test drawing.
- Confirm the drawing queue updates correctly.
- Confirm staff know how to pause, retry, and clear completed drawings.
During the Event
Keep the Drawing Management screen visible. Watch for:
- Pending drawings are building up
- Failed jobs
- Robot connection status
- Pen pressure or ink issues
- Paper placement drift
- Guests are waiting for completed drawings
If the queue grows too long, simplify the art style, reduce drawing detail, or adjust the event flow so guests receive realistic wait-time expectations.
After Each Drawing
- Remove the finished paper carefully.
- Load the next sheet in the same position.
- Mark the robot available if auto-availability is not enabled.
- Confirm the next job starts.
With auto paper replacement, confirm the pump bot is loaded, calibrated, and tested before enabling continuous operation.
End of Event
- Finish or cancel remaining jobs as needed.
- Save any required event media.
- Power down the robot.
- Pack the robot, cables, pens, and paper separately.
- Note any calibration, connection, or queue issues for follow-up.
