AI Feature Returns to Start Screen or Doesn't Process the Image
Overview
If an AI feature such as AI Modify or AI Image to Video returns to your start screen or fails to process an image, this is most likely caused by a content violation. This is a built-in protection built into the AI model itself — not a flaw in the software — and it can be triggered even when the image or request seems completely straightforward.
We understand this can be frustrating, especially during a live event. The information below explains why this happens and what can be done.
Why This Happens
Before processing anything, the AI automatically scans both the image and the prompt. If it detects something it considers a violation, it blocks the generation entirely. This happens instantly and without manual review.
Common triggers include:
- Poor lighting or an unclear image. The AI needs to be able to clearly see what is in the photo before it can process it. If the image is too dark or blurry, it may reject the request rather than guess at what it's looking at.
- A photo that includes a minor. AI models are built with strict protections around images of children. This applies regardless of what the prompt is asking for — even simple, appropriate requests will be blocked if a minor is detected in the photo.
- A prompt referencing a specific person or copyrighted likeness. Asking the AI to make someone look like a celebrity or a known character can trigger a violation, even if the intention is playful or harmless.
- Content the AI interprets as sensitive, even when it isn't intended that way. The AI does not consider context or purpose — it applies its rules automatically based on what it detects.
Why We Can't Override It
These restrictions are enforced by the AI model itself, not by Foto Master. They exist as an industry-wide safeguard to prevent misuse of AI technology — particularly when it comes to images of minors.
We are not able to disable or bypass these protections, and neither can the event operator. This is the same standard applied across the AI industry, and it exists to protect both guests and operators alike.
How to Check if a Content Violation Was Logged
- Login to cloud.fotomaster.com.
- Go to your Dashboard.
- Scroll down to the Activity Log section.
- Look for any entries marked as Error (Content Violation).
What Can Be Done
- Partially verify if the event being booked is targeted toward kids or adults. If the event will comprise mostly of children, make sure to provide an option to take a regular photo.
- If the photo includes a minor, there is a high likelihood that the AI will not process it. Providing an option to take a regular photo is the recommended resolution.
- If the prompt may be referencing a specific person or character, try simplifying or rephrasing it to avoid specific names or likenesses.
- Revising the prompt alone will not resolve the error if the image itself is the cause. You can test your prompts using our AI Playground with a sample photo of the target demographic.
