FMX for iPad: Offline Gallery
The Offline Gallery is a full-screen, kiosk-style media viewer built into FMX for iPadOS. It lets guests and operators browse all photos captured during an event, share them via email, SMS, or QR code, and print copies on demand -- all without leaving the booth experience or returning to the main workflow.
Accessing the Offline Gallery
To open the Offline Gallery, tap and hold the top-right corner of the screen for approximately 3 seconds while the booth experience is running. The gallery opens as a full-screen overlay on top of the current experience.
Tip: The tap-and-hold gesture is intentionally difficult to trigger by accident. Only operators who know the gesture can open the gallery -- guests interacting with the booth normally will not activate it.
There is no keyboard shortcut for this gesture on iPad. The touch-based corner hold is the only way to access the gallery during a live session.
Browsing Event Photos
The gallery displays all media files captured during the current event:
- Grid view -- Scroll through thumbnails of all session photos and videos
- Full-screen detail -- Tap any thumbnail to view it at full size
- Supported formats -- JPG, PNG, MP4, and GIF files stored in the event's local folder
Photos are displayed in chronological order. Swipe to navigate between items in the detail view.
Sharing from the Gallery
From the detail view of any photo, guests or operators can share using the same channels available during a live session:
- Email -- Enter an email address using the on-screen keyboard to receive a link to the photo
- SMS -- Enter a phone number using the numeric keypad to receive a link via text message
- QR Code -- Display a scannable QR code that links directly to the photo
Sharing from the gallery uses the same delivery system as live sessions, so links are generated and sent instantly.
Printing from the Gallery
Select any photo in the gallery and send it to the configured printer. The gallery uses the same print settings configured in Global Settings > Printer and Printing tabs, including layout, paper size, and copy count.
Prints initiated from the gallery are attributed to the original session for accurate print tracking in the dashboard statistics.
Tip: iPad printing requires PrintPal (network), FMPrint (cloud), or AirPrint. USB printers are not supported on iPad. See Printer and Printing Settings for setup details.
Use Cases
- Guest review station -- Set up the gallery on a second iPad so guests can browse and share while the main booth continues operating
- Reprint requests -- When a guest returns asking for another copy, open the gallery and print directly without restarting a session
- End-of-event browsing -- Let guests browse all event photos during the closing portion of an event
- Operator quality checks -- Review captured photos between sessions to verify image quality, framing, and composition
Returning to the Experience
To close the gallery and return to the live booth experience, tap the close or back control within the gallery interface. The booth experience resumes exactly where it was.
