Syncing Cloud Gallery Photos to a PMWall Mosaic Event

Updated 5 days ago · 3 min readIntermediate

PMWall can pull media from a Foto Master Cloud event gallery into the selected mosaic event. Use this when photos already exist in the Cloud gallery and you want them to appear in a PMWall activation, or when the live event depends on Cloud-connected booths sending media to the same event.

Requirements

Before syncing gallery photos, confirm:

  • The event exists in Foto Master Cloud.
  • The event has gallery media uploaded or will receive media during the live activation.
  • The Cloud plan supports events and online galleries.
  • PMWall is installed and signed in with an account that can access the event.
  • The PMWall license is available for the selected event.
  • The PMWall event settings have already been synced from Cloud.

Select the Cloud Event in PMWall

  1. Open PMWall.
  2. Sign in to your Foto Master Cloud account.
  3. Open the Dashboard tab.
  4. In Event Management, choose the Cloud event from the event list.
  5. Click Sync Event.

The event sync downloads the PMWall event settings, refreshes the main image when available, and prepares the local event folder.

If the event list is unavailable, PMWall may show locally cached events instead. Check the internet connection, account access, and license status before continuing.

  1. Open Settings in PMWall.
  2. Select Cloud Settings.
  3. In the Download section, choose what PMWall should pull from the Cloud gallery:
    • Download Raw Photos -- Downloads source photos into the local raw media flow.
    • Download Final Photos -- Downloads processed/final gallery media where available.
  4. Click Save Changes.

Use Download Raw Photos when PMWall should process incoming photos into mosaic tiles. Use Download Final Photos only when the event workflow produces final media that should also be available locally.

Start the Mosaic

  1. Return to the Dashboard tab.
  2. Confirm the correct event is selected.
  3. Click Start Mosaic.

When Cloud download is enabled, PMWall starts the mosaic runtime and runs Cloud media sync in the background. Downloaded photos are added to the local media download queue and then enter the mosaic flow according to the event settings.

You can monitor download progress in Queue Management under Media Download.

Uploading PMWall Media Back to Cloud

The same Cloud Settings screen also includes upload controls:

  • Upload Raw Photos -- Sends local raw event photos to Cloud.
  • Upload Final Photos -- Sends PMWall final tiles or processed outputs to Cloud.

Enable upload only for the media types you want stored in the Cloud event gallery.

If the event uses the online Virtual Mosaic and PMWall is generating the mosaic output locally, enable Upload Final Photos. The Virtual Mosaic reads the published event data from Cloud, so PMWall must upload final processed photos or tiles for the online mosaic to update. Enable Upload Raw Photos only when you also want the original incoming photos available in the Cloud gallery.

Troubleshooting

The Event Does Not Appear

Check that you are signed in to the correct Cloud account, the PMWall license is active, and the event belongs to the same account or workspace. If PMWall cannot reach Cloud, it may show local events instead of Cloud events.

No Photos Download

Confirm the selected Cloud event has gallery media. Also confirm Download Raw Photos or Download Final Photos is enabled, depending on the type of media in the gallery.

Photos Are Downloading but Not Appearing in the Mosaic

Check Queue Management for pending, processing, failed, or moderation items. If moderation is enabled, raw photos may need approval before they appear in the mosaic.

Virtual Mosaic Is Not Updating

Confirm Upload Final Photos is enabled in Settings > Cloud Settings. PMWall can process the local mosaic without publishing those results online unless upload is enabled.

The Wrong Event Is Syncing

Return to the Dashboard tab, select the correct Cloud event, click Sync Event, and confirm the event name before pressing Start Mosaic.
