PMWall Dashboard & Runtime

Updated 5 days ago · 2 min readIntermediate

This article covers PMWall's four main tabs: Dashboard, Runtime, Queue Management, and Settings.

Dashboard Tab

The Dashboard is your event management hub:

Event Selection

  • Dropdown list of all Cloud events assigned to your license
  • Select an event to view its details and sync status
  • Sync button -- Downloads the latest event configuration, target image, and gallery media from Cloud

Event Summary

After syncing, the dashboard shows:

  • Event name and date
  • Grid dimensions (columns x rows)
  • Total cells in the mosaic
  • Media count and print count
  • Last sync timestamp

Starting the Runtime

  • Click Start Runtime to begin accepting photos
  • PMWall validates the event configuration before starting:
    • Target image loaded
    • Grid configuration valid
    • Printer configured (if printing enabled)
    • Sufficient disk space

Runtime Tab

The Runtime tab is your real-time monitoring dashboard during an active mosaic event.

Live Metrics

MetricDescription
ProgressPercentage of grid cells filled
Media countTotal photos received
Print countLabels successfully printed
Time remainingCountdown to event end
Raw photos seenTotal photos ingested from all sources
AcceptedPhotos that passed validation and were placed
SkippedPhotos rejected (duplicates, errors, moderation)
Avg first-show latencyTime between photo arrival and first appearance in mosaic
Projected capacityWhether remaining time and grid space can accommodate expected photos

Runtime States

  • Idle -- Waiting for start command
  • Running -- Actively accepting and placing photos
  • Critical -- Low on time or grid space, placement algorithm adapts
  • Overtime -- Event duration exceeded but still placing remaining queued photos
  • Frozen -- Grid is full and freeze-when-full is enabled
  • Completed -- All photos placed or event ended

High-Resolution Export

After the mosaic is complete (or at any point during runtime):

  1. Click Export High-Res
  2. Choose export resolution
  3. PMWall stitches all tiles into a single high-resolution image
  4. Save the file for printing or digital delivery

Tip: For large-format printing (posters, banners), export at the highest resolution available. A 50x50 grid with 300px tiles produces a 15,000 x 15,000 pixel image.

Queue Management Tab

The Queue Management tab shows all media flowing through PMWall:

Upload Queue

  • Raw photos being uploaded to Cloud
  • Final processed tiles being synced
  • Status: pending, uploading, completed, failed
  • Retry failed uploads

Download Queue

  • Gallery media being downloaded from Cloud
  • Preview images for the mosaic
  • Download progress tracking

Moderation Queue

When content moderation is enabled:

  • Preview pending photos before they enter the mosaic
  • Approve -- Allow the photo to be placed
  • Reject -- Remove the photo permanently
  • Bulk approve/reject actions
  • Photo preview with zoom

Tip: Enable moderation for public events where you can't control who uploads photos. Assign someone to monitor the moderation queue during the event.

Settings Tab

The Settings tab contains five sub-tabs:

  1. Cloud -- Cloud URL, media sync toggles
  2. Printer -- Printer connection, label dimensions, DPI, throughput
  3. Storage -- Auto-delete policy, logging configuration
  4. Advanced -- Algorithm tuning, debug output
  5. About -- PMWall version, build info, license status

See PMWall Settings Guide for detailed documentation of every setting.
