How to Use Photo Mosaic AgentUpdated 2 months ago

Need to transfer photos from one computer to another during your activation? No problem! We have your back with the Photo Mosaic Agent!

How does it work?

Using the Photo Mosaic Agent app, you can transfer photos from another computer (your photo booth, for example), and directly to the activation's "raw" folder. 

Note: To allow the photo transfer between computers, both need to be connected to the same network.

Instructions:

1. Install the Photo Mosaic Agent software on your additional computer, and activate your key.

2. Connect to the same internet network (both your Photo Mosaic Wall computer and the additional computer).

3. In the Photo Mosaic Wall software, Enable Network PC Monitoring in the PC Agents tab.

4. Define your Network Password.


5. Open the Photo Mosaic Agent App and set the same Network Password.

6. In Monitored Photo Directory - Press on the [...] button and browse the folder from which you would like to pull photos from, to your Mosaic activation.


7. Press on the Start button in both Photo Mosaic Wall and in Photo Mosaic Agent, to start the activation and the image files transfer. 

Now the photos from your secondary computer will be sent to the "raw" folder of your Mosaic activation.


Note:

1. If you're an owner of the FMBooth for Windows software, you can use the built-in Photo Mosaic Agent feature.  Check this article for more details.

2. You can install the Photo Mosaic Agent on the same computer as your Photo Mosaic Wall software, and transfer photos between local or network folders.


FMBooth for Windows built-in Photo Mosaic Agent:

If you're an owner of the FMBooth for Windows software, you can find a built-in Photo Mosaic Agent in the Settings tab. It works just like your Photo Mosaic Agent app, and you can add that feature to your event, without needing to install the app separately.



Troubleshooting:

If the photos do not seem to be transferred to your Photo Mosaic Wall activation:

  • Make sure that Make sure both the Photo Mosaic Wall and Photo Mosaic Agent run as Administrator (right-click on the software icon, Run as administrator). 
  • Make sure both the Photo Mosaic Wall activation and your Photo Mosaic Agent run (press Start in each of the software).
  • Make sure both of the computers you're using are connected to the same internet network.
  • Make sure you have the same password in both the Photo Mosaic Wall and Photo Mosaic Agent software, as seen in the screenshot above. You can try a simple password such as 12345.
  • Make sure no Anti-Virus software is installed on your computer.
  • Disable the Microsoft Firewall, restart your computer, and try again.
  • Make sure that your Photo Mosaic Wall activation is able to receive photos from other online sources (MMS, Upload Form, etc.). If not, double-check your internet connection and activation settings, as well as the necessary driver installation and master photo.
  • Try using a different network. If possible, try a network from a different source (cellphone hotspot vs. home WiFi, for example).
  • Try replacing your Photo Mosaic Wall and Photo Mosaic Agent's activation passwords, Save, and restart the activation.
  • If your computer is in a language that is not English, try to change it to English, restart the computer, and see if that solves the issue.
  • Try a different mosaic activation with a different photo. It is recommended to test using Foto Master's test photo - click here to download.
  • If you are aware of any internet blockage in your country, you can try to use a VPN to see if that allows you to transfer photos.



When in need, a solution you can try is to use a third-party app called Connectify. Using Connectify you can turn a computer into a hot spot, and then have both of your Photo Mosaic Wall and Photo Mosaic Agent computers to be connected to the Connectify hot spot. Please note that you will need three computers for that in total.

Important notes:

- This is a third-party app solution and not supported by Foto Master.

- A third computer is required.

- File transfer may be a bit slower.

- Connectify offers a free account that provides 1-hour session each time. You are welcome to check paid options on Connectify's official website.

- We recommend having your own hot spot and test it in advance.



Instructions:

1. Download and install Connectify on a third computer, and make sure that the computer has an internet connection.

2. Activate the Connectify hot spot.

3. In both of your Photo Mosaic Wall and Photo Mosaic Agent computers, connect to the Connectify hot spot.

When connecting, make sure to choose the security key option.


4. Start your mosaic activation as well as the Agent activity.
