Selfie Wi-Fi Templates, Saved Flows, and Events

Updated Today · 2 min read

A Selfie Wi-Fi template, guest flow, and event each control a different part of your activation. Knowing which one you are editing prevents an unexpected change at another event.

Note: Templates can now stay linked to a saved flow. The Update both and Reset to saved flow options are no longer available.

What Each Item Controls

Template: The look, the enabled experiences, and the template’s other tabs. In an event’s settings, the template appears as the Preset.
Guest flow: The screens, text, forms, consent, and payment settings.
Event: The template, an optional saved flow, the guest link, limits, moderation, and reports.

Which Flow the Event Uses

The event uses the first source that applies:

  1. A saved flow selected on the event’s General tab.
  2. A saved flow linked to the event’s template.
  3. The template’s own flow.
  4. The basic flow, where guests take a photo and see the result.

In every case, the template still supplies the look and the enabled experiences.

When Edits Are Shared

  • Saved flow: Your edit reaches every event that selected it and every template linked to it.
  • Template’s own flow: Your edit reaches that template’s events, unless an event selected a different saved flow.
  • Look and experiences: Your edit reaches every event using that template.

Note: A label such as Based on featured flow “Free photo” shows where a flow came from. It does not mean the flow follows later edits to its source.

  • Load a built-in flow, such as Free photo: Becomes the template’s own flow.
  • Load a featured flow: Copies it to My saved flows first, then links the template to it.
  • Load from My saved flows: Links the template to that flow.
  • Save flow as...: Saves a reusable flow and links the template to it.
  • Edit saved flow: Opens the shared flow. Edits reach everything linked to it.
  • Give this template its own copy: Detaches the template, so later edits to the saved flow no longer reach it.
  • Create a flow for this event: Copies the flow shown and switches the event right away.

Note: A linked template shows its screens as read only. To change them, edit the saved flow or give the template its own copy first.

Guests Already on Their Phones

A guest waiting at the Payment step keeps their current flow and completed steps. A full page refresh or a resumed session can load your newer settings. Before you edit a shared flow during a live event, check which templates and events use it.

Missing or Deleted Flows

If a linked flow is missing or invalid, new guests cannot start. The event does not fall back to a free photo, so fix the link to restore the journey.

You cannot delete a saved flow while an active event or linked template uses it. Move those templates and events to another flow first.
