Key Fob Remote Control

Updated Today · 1 min read

The Foto Master Key Fob is a wireless remote control that lets you trigger the booth experience from a distance. Instead of guests tapping the screen to start, an operator, photographer, or attendant can press the key fob to initiate a capture at the perfect moment.

How It Works

The key fob communicates wirelessly with the booth hardware. When pressed, it sends a trigger signal that FMX interprets as a session start or capture command, depending on your workflow configuration.

Pairing the Key Fob

  1. Ensure the key fob has a fresh battery
  2. In FMX, navigate to Global Settings > Devices
  3. Enter the key fob pairing mode
  4. Press the button on the key fob to register it
  5. Confirm the pairing is successful in the Devices screen

Use Cases

  • Photographer-controlled sessions -- A photographer or attendant decides the best moment to capture, ensuring better compositions and expressions
  • Accessibility -- Guests who cannot easily reach the booth touchscreen can have an attendant trigger the capture remotely
  • Group coordination -- An attendant can wait until the entire group is ready and positioned before triggering
  • Hands-free operation -- Start the booth without touching the screen

Battery and Range

  • Battery type: Standard coin cell battery (CR2032 or similar)
  • Range: Effective within approximately 10-30 feet (3-10 meters), depending on the environment
  • Battery life: Lasts through many events with normal use. Carry a spare battery in your event kit.

Tip: Test the key fob range at each venue before the event starts. Walls, metal structures, and wireless interference can reduce effective range.
