Payment Devices Overview

Foto Master supports a range of payment devices for unattended, pay-per-use booth operation. By integrating a payment device, your booth can accept payments automatically and start a session only after a transaction is confirmed -- enabling fully autonomous operation in malls, entertainment centers, hotels, and other high-traffic locations.

Supported Payment Methods

Nayax (Most Popular)

Nayax is the most widely used payment integration for Foto Master booths. It supports credit cards, debit cards, mobile payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay), and contactless payments through a single compact device.

Intercard

Intercard is popular in family entertainment centers and arcade environments. It uses a proprietary card system where guests load credits onto a venue card and tap to pay.

Venue card system -- Works with the venue's existing Intercard infrastructure
Swipe or tap -- Card-based payment at the booth
Revenue sharing -- Integrates with venue revenue management

Embed Card

Similar to Intercard, Embed Card is used in entertainment and amusement venues. It provides a seamless payment experience within the venue's existing card ecosystem.

Venue integration -- Works with Embed's card system
Tap-to-play -- Quick, familiar guest experience
Centralized billing -- Revenue managed through Embed's platform

Coin Acceptor

For locations where cash payment is preferred, coin acceptors provide a simple, mechanical payment option.

Cash-based -- Guests insert coins to start a session
No transaction fees -- Unlike card payments, no processing fees
Simple maintenance -- Periodically empty the coin box
Best for: Lower price points, casual venues, international locations where cash is preferred

Shopify

When a guest reaches a payment step, the booth shows a QR code, the guest scans it and pays on their own phone through Shopify, and the booth advances automatically once the payment lands. This payment option is only available in Pro Cloud accounts.

Ease of Use -- The guest scans the code with their phone camera, which opens a Shopify checkout page
No Physical Device Required -- No additional maintenance required or add ons

Stripe

Accept payments at your photo booth with Stripe. Customers scan a QR code on the booth screen, pay on their phone, and the booth continues automatically after the QR code disappears. This payment option is only available in Pro Cloud accounts.

Cashless payments -- The guest pays with any method enabled - card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link
Ease of Use -- Booth creates a unique Stripe Checkout session for this customer and displays it as a QR code
No Physical Device Required -- No additional maintenance required or add ons

Tip: If you are placing booths in multiple types of locations, Nayax, Shopify, and Stripe are the most versatile choices. As they all accept the widest range of payment methods and work independently of venue-specific card systems.

Integration with FMX

Payment devices connect to FMX through the Global Settings payment configuration. Once connected, FMX handles the payment flow automatically:

Guest approaches the booth and sees a "Pay to Play" prompt
Guest taps their card, inserts coins, or pays via mobile
The payment device confirms the transaction
FMX starts the booth experience
The transaction is logged in the Cloud dashboard

Using Your Own POS or Payment System

Already have your own POS, payment terminal, or venue payment system and not sure if it can work with Foto Master? There are two possible paths:

Option 1: Connect your POS using the Spacebar Trigger

If your POS can confirm that a payment was accepted, your developer can connect it to FMX by using the Spacebar trigger.

In this setup, once the payment is approved, your POS or middleware sends a Windows keyboard Spacebar event to the computer running FMX. FMX then moves forward in the workflow, just like it would after a supported payment device confirms payment.

Best for:

Custom POS systems
Venue-owned payment systems
Internal payment apps
Operators with their own development team

Important: The payment must be fully approved before the Spacebar event is triggered.

Option 2: Request Custom FMX Integration

If you want your POS or payment device to be supported directly inside FMX, you can provide Foto Master with the device API / SDK, technical documentation, and a sample device.
