Using the Hands Free Feature (QR Workflow Trigger, MMS and Email)

Legacy Article: This article covers the legacy FMBooth (Windows + iPadOS) software. FMBooth (Windows + iPadOS) has been replaced by FMX. See FMX documentation →

Overview

This feature enables hands-free operation of the mirror through QR code scanning via smartphone, offering two primary usage methods.

Method 1: QR Code-Triggered State Transitions

Setup Process:

  1. Add an animation state to your workflow and load your desired animation.
  2. Set the animation's next state trigger to QR Code.
  3. Start the workflow to display the QR code on screen.
  4. Users scan the code with their phones to advance to the next workflow state.

Customization: Access Settings > Triggers to adjust the QR code's size and position using width, height, left, and top values.

Method 2: QR Code with SMS/Email Features

Configuration Steps:

  1. Set up your workflow with MMS/Email functionality.
  2. Replace the standard MMS/Email state with Hands-Free MMS/Email Start.
  3. Add an animation to display behind the QR code, with its next state trigger set to Event.
  4. Add Hands-Free MMS/Email Stop as the final state.

Workflow Settings

Key configuration options include:

  • QR Code WxH: Defines code dimensions
  • QR Code LeftxTop: Controls vertical screen positioning
  • Enable Timeout: Sets maximum QR code display duration (in seconds)
  • Next State Trigger: Specifies QR Scan, Form Completion, or None
  • Enable Consent: Adds Terms of Agreement/Privacy Policy checkbox
  • Custom QR Code URL: Redirects scanning to a custom URL

Note: The Hands-Free MMS feature is incompatible with "MMS via Email carrier" texting options.
