Working with the Multi Presets Feature

Legacy Article: This article covers the legacy FMBooth (Windows + iPadOS) software. FMBooth (Windows + iPadOS) has been replaced by FMX. See FMX documentation →

Overview

The Multi Preset feature enables you to run different presets sequentially throughout a single event, allowing guests to select from various options during your event.

Enabling Multi Presets

First, prepare individual presets you'd like to use. Then check the Enable Multi Presets Selection checkbox to activate this feature, which opens a new menu on the left side of the options panel.

Creating Multi Preset Folders

Click the "Add folder" button to create a new Multi Presets folder. Once created, you can:

  • Change the folder name
  • Add a folder thumbnail
  • Select the sequence method (Selection screen or Random Rotation)

To add presets to your folder, click the arrow to expand it, then drag and drop desired presets into that folder.

Organizing Nested Folders

You can create nested folders by dragging folders into existing folders. This allows guests to navigate through categories you define. For example, a Wedding folder could contain sub-folders for "1V (1 vertical photo)" and "3V (3 vertical photos)" presets.

When selecting a nested folder for your event, guests see a selection screen showing available sub-folders. They can navigate through these categories and press Back to return to previous screens.

Selection Screen Customization

Enable "Show Multi Presets Selection Screen" to customize the display with:

  • Custom background images
  • Back button models (from your preset pack's Assets folder)
  • Thumbnail size and position adjustments
  • Unique settings for each Multi Preset folder

Random Rotation

Enable "Rotate Randomly Between the Multi Presets" to cycle through presets in random order throughout your event.

Loading Preset Thumbnails

Thumbnails are stored in two folders within your preset pack:

  • C:\MirrorMeBooth\Thumbnails - small thumbnails (163x109)
  • C:\MirrorMeBooth\Thumbnails_Large - larger versions (500x333)

Place custom thumbnails in both folders using identical filenames. Load them from the Thumbnails folder (not Thumbnails_Large) via the settings button.

Important Notes:

  • Loading thumbnails is separate from loading overlays in the Layout Tab
  • If no large thumbnail exists, the software automatically uses the smaller version

Troubleshooting Missing Thumbnails

If thumbnails disappear from your selection screen:

  1. Verify you've placed thumbnail files with matching names in both the Thumbnails and Thumbnails_Large folders
  2. Confirm you loaded thumbnails from the Thumbnails folder, not Thumbnails_Large
