The Difference Between Load Preset and Load TemplateUpdated 4 hours ago

Load Preset

When you use the Load Preset option, you load the workflow/layout/video output associated with a preset that Foto Master created.

To do that, you need to go to your Cloud account to the Events tab -> your selected event -> General and click on the "Load Preset" button. Once you do that, you will see all the available presets represented by a thumbnail, and if you hover the mouse over them, a short video will automatically play, showing what the workflow looks like.

Once you know which preset you want to use, simply click the "Select" button, and all the relevant information (workflow, layout, and video output) will be loaded.

All that remains is to select the license key from the dropdown list, click Save, and sync everything via the software on the booth. All the information syncs locally without taking up storage for different assets (such as animations, overlays, etc.)

When using the "Load Preset" option, you are using the preset as it is - there is no option to edit the workflow/layout/video output. If you'd like to use them but with adjustments to fit your needs, then that "Load Template" option will work better.

* Note, presets that use AI features in them will be marked with (AI) in the name of the preset.

Load Template

The "Load Template" option allows you to download a specific template (could be a workflow template, Layout template, or a video fusion template) to your Cloud account, meaning it will appear in the Presets tab -> FMX (Windows/iPadOS) ->  workflow/layout/video output tab.

Once a template is loaded, you can edit it to your liking: you can change the name, add/remove animations and features, change the Nodes order, and more. You are also able to duplicate the template as well as download it again - there is no limit to how many times you can download a template.

To load a template, select the type you'd like (workflow/layout/video) and click on the "Load Template" button at the top right corner. A list of all the available workflows will appear (could be different than the "Load Preset" options):

Once you have all your templates set, simply go to the Events tab -> your selected event -> General, select your desired workflow/layout/output, click Save, and sync everything via the software on the booth.

If you prefer the ready-made presets that Foto Master has, without needing to edit them, then the "Load Preset" option might be better suited for you.
