Experience Tab (Global Settings)
The Experience tab in FMX Global Settings controls how the booth behaves during operation, including auto-start behavior, idle timeouts, and screen corner shortcuts for quick navigation.

Auto-Start
- Auto-start on software restart -- When enabled, FMX automatically launches the active experience when the software starts. This is useful for unattended booths that need to resume operation after a reboot or power cycle without manual intervention.
Idle Timeout
- Idle Timeout (seconds) -- Configures how long FMX waits with no guest interaction before automatically restarting the experience. This returns the booth to the welcome screen so it is ready for the next guest.
- Set to
0to disable idle timeout entirely. - Recommended range: 30 to 90 seconds for most event setups.
- Set to
Tip: For unattended public booths, set the idle timeout to 30-60 seconds to ensure the booth always resets to a welcoming state. For attended events where an operator manages the booth, you can set a longer timeout or disable it entirely.
Corner Shortcuts
FMX provides four screen corner shortcuts -- one for each corner of the display. Pressing and holding a corner for approximately 3 seconds activates the assigned action. This gives operators a quick, discreet way to control the booth without visible buttons on screen.
Default Corner Assignments
| Corner | Default State | Default Action |
|---|---|---|
| Top-Left | Enabled | Open Gallery |
| Top-Right | Enabled | Exit to Settings |
| Bottom-Left | Disabled | Restart Workflow |
| Bottom-Right | Disabled | Go to Next Step |
Available Actions
Each corner can be independently configured to one of the following actions:
- None -- Corner is disabled; pressing it does nothing.
- Open Gallery -- Opens the session gallery showing all captured media.
- Restart Workflow -- Resets the current experience back to the beginning.
- Exit to Settings -- Exits the running experience and returns to the FMX settings/dashboard.
- Go to Next Step -- Advances the workflow to the next step, skipping the current one.
Corner Activation
- Press and hold a corner of the screen for approximately 3 seconds to trigger the assigned action.
- The hold requirement prevents accidental activation from normal screen touches during the guest experience.
- Corner shortcuts work during any step of the running experience.
Tip: Keep "Exit to Settings" assigned to at least one corner (top-right is conventional). This gives you a reliable escape route to access the configuration panel during a live event without needing a keyboard.
Offline Gallery
- Open Offline Gallery -- Opens the Offline Gallery overlay from Settings. Press and hold Ctrl+G again to close the gallery and return to Settings.
The separate Offline Gallery action visibility toggles are configured in the Sharing Tab.
