Animations in the Workflow BuilderUpdated 2 hours ago

This guide explains what animations are, the types available (Single, Random, Timeless), and how to apply them effectively in your workflows.

What Are Animations?

Animations are visual or motion elements that enhance the user experience. They are used to:

  • Make screens more engaging

  • Provide feedback during waiting periods

  • Reinforce branding or event themes

Animations can appear in:

  • Idle / attract screens

  • Backgrounds behind steps (Capture Photo, Selection Screen, etc.)

  • Preloader moments (AI processing, uploads, transitions)

  • In Between Features

Types of Animations

Your system supports four animation modes:

  • Single Animation

  • Random Animation

  • Timeless Animation

Each mode has its own configuration panel when enabled.

Single Animation

A Single Animation displays one specific animation every time the screen appears. It can be either a video file or an image.

Use it when

  • You have a fixed branded asset (event logo, sponsor visual).

  • You want consistent visuals across sessions.

Typical settings

  • Select an animation file or preset.

  • Configure it's trigger (time, touch, playbackended, ...)

Random Animation

Random Animation selects an animation from a predefined list each time the step appears.

Use it when

  • You want variety so the experience feels different each session.

  • You have multiple branded animations or themed assets.

Typical settings

  • Add multiple animations into the random set.

  • Configure whether the random animation appear:

    • Fully Randomly

    • Evenly Spreaded but still randomly

Best for

  • High-traffic environments

  • Rotating event themes

  • Uniqe experiance for evey guest

Timeless Animation

Timeless Animation is designed to loop indefinitely without visible start or end—ideal for subtle ambient motion.

Use it when

  • The screen may remain visible for long periods.

  • You need smooth, non-distracting movement.

Typical settings

  • Choose a timeless/loop-friendly animation.

  • Configure if it will run in the forground (above everything) or at the background (behind everything)

Best for

  • Fixed Video runnting throughout the workflow.

  • Augmented Reality

  • Capture Screen or Screen Recording
